My Day, Labor Day - May 1

≡ Category: Events |

I started my day with the thought that I should do a coverage of places which are of importance on that day. Since it is labor day that would obviously be the workers and on the religious side the Alay Lakad 2008.

I rode the EMBC bus to do the Alay Lakad and Antipolo Fiesta first, since in this way it would be more convenient to head on the location due to the availability of the FX going to LRT Recto.

I arrive at antipolo at almost 10 Am in the morning, the travel from my place was way faster than assumed because there are less vehicles going to the place and more of them used the mass transportation vehicles such as bus and FX, which is way cheaper and less hassle than personally owned. I observed that most of the visitors there travel in group.

Bazaar are everywhere featuring their product SUMAN wrapped in coconut leaves or Buli leaves but not just limited to that, there you can also find Coco Jam of Cainta, Piyaya of Bacolod, and other religious stuffs that featured the Virgin Mary.

Pilgrims who did the Alay Lakad filled the church. including other religious sect, what I did there is to offer intention of thanks giving for all the blessing that god had given to me and my family. I also visited my favorit place there which is the adoration chapel. I thank him so much and wished that I can overcome my trials.

On the community, there is an ongoing marching band competition which I happen to get some snapshot, unfortunately due to the crowd I can’t have a good snap of the Nescafe booth setup which is boracay themed including the surfing simulator and free Iced cold coffee concoctions. I had a chowking siopao lunch on the go and headed to Mendiola.

When I arrived at recto station the program of the rallyist are almost over, rallyist including the FTLU, KASAMA, BAYAN and many others are packing up, Media on the other side are on a stand by.

Lensman who cover the events are resting on the shade of the big covered truck that served as the stage. one of them smiled when I took it, I don’t know if because of the camera I used or it’s just for the shot, another one is also documenting at an angle opposite mine.

Since the temperature is very hot that day the anti riot shield are put down on the ground which looks like a big memory game to me, and the police are scattered around the perimeter. after that I rode the G-Liner bus and headed to Edsa Shrine.

Edsa Shrine is relatively peaceful at the time I arrived and the only police that are present are on the medical station, I prayed and thank him again for the blessing and the challenges that I am going through, and hope he can help me out again.

I had my dinner at Robinson Galleria and finished the day watching the IronMan movie which is great.

— I love you still
